hey y’all! this past week has been a struggle between me and the flu! having to rest is not my strong suit, as I would rather be doing something (literally ANYTHING) else than laying around! if anyone else is currently fighting the same battle then girl I got some tips for ya! I did these things this week, and while I don’t think I healed faster, I do think they made the healing process more
- USE ESSENTIAL OILS
–my favorites for combating the nasty flu include: frankincense, lemon, lavender, and purify by doterra essential oils
–favorite way to use them: diffuse or put a few drops on a washcloth to steam in shower
-whether it comes in syrup form with local raw honey or in a lozenge, elderberry has amazing flu fighting benefits. Studies show that elderberry has been successful in reducing the swelling of mucous membranes and aiding in nasal decongestion.
- DETOX BATH
-a bath can do wonders when you aren’t feeling up to par, but I caution you against too hot baths as they can aide in fever spikes!
–my go to detox bath recipe:
-1 cup Epsom salt
-1/4 cup baking soda
-2 tablespoons ground ginger
-few drops of tea tree essential oil
- TOMATO TEA
-so soothing when your throat hurts!! The recipe I use comes from here: tomato tea recipe
- WATER, WATER, WATER
-girl can I say it enough?! You need to stay hydrated so your body can get rid of the nasty virus! Try it with lemon to give you an extra boost of vitamin c!
-get all the z’s!! your body needs to rest in order to fully recover. So change into your comfy clothes and put on some calming music to relax your body!
